Use UTM links with Google Analytics
Last updated
What to do
UTM parameters describe a campaign inside its destination URL. Open the UTM link builder and enter the website address plus source, medium and campaign values. Use consistent names so your destination analytics can group visits sensibly.
Copy the generated URL and open it in a browser. Confirm that its existing query parameters and path are still correct. Use that full URL as the QR destination, choosing static or dynamic according to whether future target changes are required.
Scan the final image and inspect the landing page's URL. Google Analytics must be configured on that website to interpret the campaign; QRCodeTransfer does not connect directly to your Google Analytics account or guarantee the destination's reports.
Keep QR redirect statistics and website sessions separate when comparing results. Consent settings, blockers and subsequent website redirects can affect destination analytics. Do not place personal information or secret tokens in campaign parameters, since these values are part of a shareable URL.
