Are ads inserted into scan destinations?

Last updated

What to do

The current managed redirect flow sends an active link to its saved destination without inserting a separate advertising page. Hosted pages and forms instead display the content that the owning workspace publishes for that asset.

Open the asset and inspect its destination before sharing it. For a QR image, scan the exact export or printed copy and follow the browser to its final page. This checks both QRCodeTransfer's link and any redirects performed by the destination website.

If you see an unexpected advertisement, compare the decoded public URL, saved destination and final browser address. A third-party page may display its own advertising, or a demonstration image may contain a different destination. Updating your managed target cannot remove ads controlled by another website.

Report the asset ID, observed URL and approximate time if the managed flow differs from your settings. Avoid sending passwords or secret keys. A blank or unavailable result should also be checked against the asset state and domain readiness before assuming it is an advertising issue.
