Can I change a static code to dynamic?

What to do

Static and dynamic modes are selected when a code is created. There is no conversion button that changes the data stored in an existing printed matrix. Adding a frame, changing colors or uploading a logo also does not turn a static destination into a managed redirect.

To move to dynamic use, open the generator and create a separate dynamic code with the intended destination. Sign in, choose the appropriate workspace and save it under a distinct name so your team can tell the old and new versions apart.

Download the new image and compare both images by scanning them. The old static code should still contain its original destination; the new code should use its managed public link. Replace the actual artwork in documents, websites and future printed material.

Existing printed copies cannot be updated remotely. If you control the old destination website, you may manage that website separately, but that does not change the old code's mode or create QRCodeTransfer scan history for it.
