Check a code before printing

What to do

Check the content before checking the decoration. Open the intended destination and confirm the correct page, file or form is available to a visitor. A code that scans successfully but reaches a wrong or unpublished target is still not ready for distribution.

Keep a clear four-module quiet zone and strong contrast between modules and background. Do not crop the margin, distort the aspect ratio or place artwork over finder patterns. Review logos and captions after exporting, not only in the generator's small preview.

Test the final downloaded image on real phones at the intended print or display size. Include the actual document or signage export if another application resizes the image. Dense data, small modules and poor printing can require a larger output even when a larger screen preview scans.

After a managed destination change, use the old printed image to verify continued identity. If a test fails, simplify the design, enlarge the output and check the target and asset state separately. Keep a verified copy before ordering a large print run.
